Fiorentina midfielder Massimo Gobbi insists that morale is high in the Viola camp ahead of their Tuscan derby with Livorno on Wednesday.
Fiorentina lost 1-0 to Roma at the weekend, losing fourth place to AC Milan as a result, but Gobbi insists that they have what it takes to claim a Champions League spot.
He told the club's official website: "We are playing frequently so there is some fatigue but there is still the serenity and determination to win every match.
"We matched Roma, as we did against Milan. We have spent a lot of energy but morale is high and we played really well despite the result.
"We came close to goal on a number of occasions and I think a draw would have been a fairer result. Now we must leave the defeat behind and think about Livorno.
"We are entering a crucial phase of the season and we will confront it with calm. Now we need to show determination and give our all in the championship and the UEFA Cup.''
A major blow for the Florence-based club is the news that star striker Adrian Mutu has been ruled out for up to a month having damaged a ligament in his left knee against the Giallorossi.
The Romanian forward, top scorer with 14 league goals this season, could miss up to eight games including Wednesday's derby and both legs of the Gigliati's UEFA Cup last-16 clash against Everton.
Franco Semioli looks set to be drafted in by coach Cesare Prandelli to fill in for Mutu. Giampaolo Pazzini and Mario Santana will complete the trident attack, as Christian Vieri is suspended.
Marco Donadel and Fabio Liverani could return to the midfield, replacing Martin Jorgensen and Riccardo Montolivo, whilst Dario Dainelli could come in for Per Kroldrup in defence.
Livorno are desperate to claim a result from the game with just a point separating the Labronici from the relegation places in Serie A.
